SONATRACH GZ1

The GZ1 is a 40-inch diameter trunk pipeline and a core component of the SONATRACH transport network, designed to convey natural gas from the heart of the Sahara to the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants on the Mediterranean coast.

KOUDIET

Located in the El Tarf province (Algeria), on the Mediterranean coast, this plant is one of the country’s largest power generation infrastructures, with an installed capacity of 1,200 MW.

Unlike the adjacent combined-cycle complex, this peaking power infrastructure operates exclusively in Open-Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) mode, designed to provide rapid load response and frequency support to the Algerian interconnected system.

Located on the High Plains plateau, this large-scale energy infrastructure, awarded to the South Korean company Hyundai Engineering & Construction, constitutes one of the most powerful power generation hubs in the region, with a nominal installed capacity of 1,250 MW.
